Ernakulam Hockey is the Recognized Body of Kerala Hockey, Hockey India, which is into the only motive of molding young players to grow in heights. Ernakulam was blessed to have the Dhronachaya of coaching Mr. Sreedhar Shenoy. Continuing with his blessings and the dedication from each one, Ernakulam has enabled many players to participate in different tournaments be it State, National and even International levels. While the history speaks about Hockey players from Ernakulam, this body is still trying to give the best players who would in the coming days or years allow the flag of Ernakulam fly high. We are providing the best grass root level training with the available infrastructure and are happy that a new Turf is allotted for Ernakulam, which will definitely build interest in the mind of youngsters.
Ernakulam has given its best to the state as well as the nation. Mr. Santosh Shenoy, the Veteran of Ernakulam was the first person to be part of Junior Indian Camp. Dinesh Naik, the Olympian is also from Ernakulam. Bindu K, Beena PV who represented the Junior Indian team is also from Ernakulam District. Over and the above we are happy that, Olympian, Mr. P R Sreejesh, the one who is considered as the worlds best goal keeper and the one who is guarding the Indian goal post is from Ernakulam. Thus, with pride we can say, Hockey is only to considered as outstanding sport from among others in the district.
